My Philosophy of Education
As a teacher, I believe that education far more than papers, quizzes and memorization. Education exceeds math homework and book reports. Education is learning; learning not only the information presented in the curriculum, but learning and grasping concepts to understand our world, our communities and ourselves.
- I believe that cooperative learning is an important aspect in the classroom. I desire my students to work and learn together academically and socially.
- I believe that the classroom environment should be caring and safe, promoting respect and understanding of one another.
- I believe that integrating technology into all subject areas is vital in our classrooms and can enchance the learning environment.
- I believe that education is important and, therefore, I hope to be a continual learner just as my students. I hope to continually learn how to be a better educator through classes, professional development and my colleagues.
- I believe that passion is vital in the classroom. This includes a passion for the students, the academics and my career.
